Donuts (Air Fryer)

★★★

Air Fryer, Desert

Ingredients

1 cup warm milk

2 ½ tsp. active dry yeast

¼ cup + 1 tsp. granulated sugar

1 egg

¼ cup butter, melted

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. vanilla

CHOCOLATE GLAZE

3/4 cup chocolate chips

1 tablespoon butter

1 1/2 tablespoons corn syrup

water for thinning

Directions

Combine the milk, yeast, and 1 tsp. of sugar well. Let sit, covered until foamy (about five minutes).

In a large bowl, stir together the remaining sugar and flour. Add to it your milk mixture, egg, butter, and vanilla and stir until well combined and no dry flour remains.

Dump your dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, until dough is no longer sticky.

Allow your dough to rise for 30 minutes

Roll out the dough into a ½ inch thick sheet and cut out with a donut cutter.

Allow your cut donuts to rise for another 30 minutes. While they rise, preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 350°F.

While the donuts cook for 5 minutes at 350, prepare the glaze by melting butter, corn syrup, and chocolate chips in the microwave gradually on 20-30% power.

Stir your glaze until smooth, adding water 1 teaspoon at a time if it needs to be thinner. You may need to reheat the glaze several times during frosting if you are doing it as you make the donuts.

Dip your donuts into the glaze after they finish cooking. Top with sprinkles and enjoy!

Notes

These were pretty good. Everyone liked them. Stay just a hair under 1/2" thick and you get 24 donuts.
